Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recovered one live cartridge from a female passenger at the Birsa Munda airport. She identified herself as Elizabeth L. Peter, a native of Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) settled in the US.
The recovery came when she was scanned after turning up at the airport to board an Air Asia flight to Delhi with her children.
The CISF handed her over to the airport police station officials. An FIR was registered against her under the Arms Act. The police seized her passport and cartridge case.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the concerned police station, Anand Kumar, confirmed the recovery, saying that the woman pleaded not guilty and said that she took the cartridge from the roadside and kept it for designing ornaments.
OC Anand said the cartridge is used in pistols. “She was released from the police station on PR bond. He will now be able to get his passport with court orders for the same. He will have to appear in court."
